Marion Lowe

Marion 'Leonard' Lowe, age 90, of Caroleen, died Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Hospice House.
He was born February 12, 1919 in Great Falls, SC to the late Bryon Henry Lowe and Othello Ruff Lowe. He was a man who had many accomplishments during his long and productive life. He taught his children by example while living out his Christian faith and serving his country and community. Among those accomplishments, was graduating from Wake Forest University Law School and serving his country in the US Army as a 1st Lieutenant during World War II. He faithfully served as District Attorney for the 29th Judicial District for 24 years. He played a vital role at Caroleen Baptist Church while holding the office of deacon and Sunday School teacher. He led in many community activities as a member of the Lions Club, the Farm Bureau, the North Carolina Cattleman's Association, and the Board of Trustees at Gardner-Webb University and as an active part of the Democratic Party. His most enjoyable personal time was farming and tending to his Black Angus Cows. Leonard leaves a legacy behind that will live on in the minds and hearts of his friends and loved ones.
He is survived by his lovely wife of 66 years, Reba Robbins Lowe and by his children DiAnne, Steve and Karen. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
