Martha Roark Collins, age 67, of Poors Ford Road, Rutherfordton, died Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born October 31, 1946 in Greenup County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Fred Webb and Carrie Young Webb. She worked as a CNA for the Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods, Kentucky for several years and was bestowed by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky the honor of "Kentucky Colonel" for her service to the community and state. She enjoyed trips to Myrtle Beach, playing Canasta and bowling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Roark.
Survivors include her husband of twenty-two years, Russell Collins; daughter, Robin Woods and husband, Leo of Sydney, Ohio; two sons, David Roark and wife, Cathy of Franklin Furnace, Ohio and Keith Roark and wife, Kyla of Flatwoods, KY; sister, Sophia Barchak of Conway, SC; brother, Steve Webb and wife, Joyce of Catlettsburg, KY. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Sabrina Woods, Jay Woods, Jordan Roark and caregiver, Sharon Porter.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Melvin Hill Church of the Brethren with Rev. Earl Byers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
