Martin Conner

Martin Conner, age 76, of Spindale, died Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Hospice House. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Willie Ray Conner and Dottie Murphy Conner. He worked in furniture manufacturing with Wright's Veneering Company and Broyhill Industries for 27 years before his retirement. He was a member of Mt. Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting and farming.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters and two grandchildren, Daisy Holland and Ashley Conner.
Survivors include three daughters, Deborah Ann Conner Simpson of Forest City, Dorothy Sue Conner Elliott and her husband, Joe and Dale Ramona Conner Gosnell and her husband, Ronald, all of Forest City; three sons, Danny Jay Conner of Fletcher, NC, Donald Gene Conner and his wife, Diane, of Forest City and Douglas Ray Conner and his wife Betty of Bostic; three sisters Oneida Camp of East Flatrock, NC, Winnie Hensley of Rutherfordton and Hope Brenn of Akron, OH; one brother; Clyde Conner of Saluda, NC; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
