Marvin Scoggins

Marvin Jackson Scoggins, age 98, of Forest City, died Friday, March 20, 2015 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born February 18, 1917 in Savannah, Georgia, he was the son of the late Samuel Jefferson Scoggins and Mary Elizabeth Strickland Scoggins .
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Scoggins; 11 brothers and 4 sisters.
Survivors include his children, Michael Scoggins, Jay Scoggins, Robin Vahle; sisters, Lucille Hutchins, Wanda Lane, Vivian Payne, Lucy Melton; brother, Grover S. Scoggins. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
