Mary Smith

Mary Adams Smith, age 76, of Forest City, passed away Friday, April 10, 2020 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Mary was born September 20, 1943 in Rutherford County to the late Virgil Adams and Lucille Piercy Adams. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Mary also enjoyed working as a hairdresser/beautician from her home. She loved her family dearly and was a member of Danieltown Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-three years, Fletcher Smith and two sisters, Ann Moore and Rita Gilbert.

Those left to cherish her memory include one son, David Smith (fiancé, Kayley Hargett) of Rutherfordton; two brothers, Earl Adams of Spindale and Steve Adams (Lynn) of Rutherfordton; four sisters, Jessie Clontz of Gilkey, Geraldine Adams Ziegler of Detroit, Michigan, Jean Burdette of Bessemer City and Betty Weeks of Forest City. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Caleb and Brianna Smith.

A private service will be conducted to honor Mary’s life with Reverend Brent Frady officiating. Burial will follow in Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
