Mary Lucille Buff, age 80, of Bradley Loop Road, Ellenboro, NC, died Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born April 13, 1933 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Joe Fowler Adair and Molly Ida Price Adair. Lucille's life was consumed with taking care of her family. She was a dedicated wife to her husband who served in the US Army for over twenty years and was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Hicks Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, drawing, painting and ceramics.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Joe Buff; two brothers, Joe Adair, Marshall Adair and two sisters, Frances Gowan and Margaret Phillips.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-one years, Elbert Buff; three daughters, Freda Lynch of Cashiers, NC, Donna Waters and husband, Johnny of Ellenboro and Patti Bridges and husband, David of Bessemer City; two sons, Dale Buff and wife, Becky of Forest City and Matthew Buff of Ellenboro; brother, Elbert Eugene Adair and wife, Sharon of Forest City and sister, Emma Toms and husband, Jerry of Camden, SC. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2014 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Hicks Grove Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
