Mary Emery

Mary Grehawick Emery, age 95, of Rutherfordton, NC and formerly of Sarasota, FL died Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at White Oak Manor.

Mary was born October 26, 1916 in Chester, Pennsylvania to the late Peter Grehawick and Rosalie Zuk Grehawick. She was a member of Our Lady of Martyrs Catholic Church of Sarasota and enjoyed gardening, bingo, sewing and attending the Adult Day Care Center. She loved her family dearly and was a caretaker to her late husband.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Charles Mifflin Emery; one son, Glenn Ralph Emery; grandson, Dennis C.R. Hulse and ten brothers and sisters.

Survivors include three daughters, Carolee Emery Rooney of Rutherfordton, Janice Emery Drever and husband, Maxwell of Tiburon, CA, Michele Emery Weissinger and husband, Brian of Palmetto, FL. She is also survived by a daughter in-law, Suzan Hall Emery, 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
