Mary Mckern

Mary Frances Kennedy McKern, age 80, of Mooresboro, NC, died August 18, 2012 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Mary was born August 31, 1931 to the late Ewell Norman Kennedy and Mae Bell Sewell Kennedy. Mary was always known for being a hardworking person. In her childhood years she picked cotton until she began to work in the textile mills. She worked for Dover Mills for many years before her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and cooking, shopping and especially spending time with family. She was a committed Christian.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James McKern; one sister, Nell Fuller and brother, Marion Kennedy and special nephew,Robin Kennedy.
Survivors include her three children, Barbara McKern, Ricky McKern and Shawn McKern all of Mooresboro; two brothers, John Kennedy and Stanley Kennedy; two sisters, Betty Saylors and Carolyn McCurley; three grandchildren, Carissa Sisk of Shelby, Kristy Willis of Lawndale and Megan Hodge of Bessemer City; two great grandchildren, Shanna Corson and Dalton Corson and a number of nieces and nephews.
