Mary Padgett

Mary D. Padgett, age 85, of Goodes Creek Road, Mooresboro, passed away Friday, November 25, 2016 at the Fair Haven Home in Forest City.
Born on Monday, July 20, 1931 in Cleveland County, NC, she was a daughter to the late Vess Deaton and Inez Greene Deaton. She was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren. Mary also enjoyed sewing for the family. She was of the Baptist Faith and will be greatly missed by all of her friends and family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Jesse Earl Padgett; son, Darryl Padgett; daughter, Alice Conner; five brothers, Howard Deaton, Ernest Deaton, Donald Deaton, Tommy Deaton, Lewis Dover and granddaughter, Amy Condrey.
Survivors include three daughters, Erlene Splawn and husband, Doyle of Mooresboro, Tammy Aldrich and husband, Lewis of Chesnee and Donna Wood and husband, Mike of Mooresboro; two sons, Mark Padgett and Eddie Padgett and wife, Tammie all of Mooresboro; one brother, Vick Deaton and wife, Sarah of Mooresboro; sister, Janie Buff of Boiling Springs, NC; fifteen grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home.
