Mary Stamper, age 86, of Forest City, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021 at her residence.
Mary was born Wednesday, June 27, 1934 in Letcher, Kentucky to the late Willie Jack Craft and Ellen Mae Saylor Craft. She worked for Sonoco-Crellin Plastics for many years and attended Grace Chapel in Forest City. She enjoyed looking for bargains at yard sales and consignment shops. Mary was a dedicated homemaker who loved her family dearly and will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-two years, Gerald Dean Stamper; son, Johnny Stamper; daughter, Jatana Stamper; brothers, David, Lonnie, Robert and Junior Craft; sisters, Helen Ancheta and Delores Radinz; daughter-in-law, Emma Stamper and a grandson, Robert Jeremy Lynch.
Those left to cherish her memory include her eight children, Jody Stamper of Sandy Mush, Marilyn Sain (Larry) of Saluda, Nicky Mace (Vance) of Ellenboro, Kim Haney (Keith) of Forest City, Tim Stamper (Mary Lisa) of Sandy Mush, TG Ensley (Ricky) of Harris, Sam Stamper of Harris, Tammy Wiggins (Tommy) of Forest City; brother, Danny Craft (Marie) of Sandy Mush and sister, Janice Fleming (Ben) of Pekin, Indiana. She is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-nine great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ricky Poteat officiating. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
