Mary Taylor

Mary Taylor, age 83, of Rutherfordton, passed away, December 27, 2020 at her residence.

Mary was born March 15, 1937 in Rutherford County to the late Dewey Morrow and Odester Banning Morrow. She worked in textiles most of her life and was a member of Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church. Mary enjoyed making flower arrangements, working on crafts, sewing, gardening and cooking for her family. She especially loved taking care of her family and friends. Mary had a heart of love for all she knew.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, George Edward Taylor, Sr.; brothers, Robert and Leonard Morrow and a grandson, Josh Rippy.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Elizabeth Taylor Schmitt (James) of Forest City and Lisa Biddy (Terry) of Rutherfordton; son, George Edward Taylor, Jr. (Lynn) of Gilkey; thirteen grandchildren which includes, Chasity Toney (Travis), Bobbie Gilbert (Melinda), Shirley Gilbert, Samantha Greene, April White (Earl), Edward Taylor III, Brittany Taylor, William Shane Taylor, Nikki Gonsaldes, Heather Harris (Pat), Charity Dobbins (Carl), Justin Rippy and Jeremy Rippy. She is also survived by thirty-four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church with Reverend Bobby Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church.
