Mary Tipton

Mary Magdalene Tipton, age 96, of Caroleen, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Restwell Home of Rutherfordton.
A native of Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Calvin Tesenair and Ada Queen Tesenair. She was a longtime member of Sisk Memorial Missionary Church and loved to sew and play the piano. She worked for the Textile Mills most of her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gaston Tipton; a daughter, Dalphine Rosa Bailey and a grandson, Luther 'Sonny' Hawkins.
She is survived by a granddaughter, Tracy Jordan of Caroleen and two great grandsons, Jason Hawkins and David Bryan Hawkins also of Caroleen.
