Maxine G. Mckinney

Maxine G. McKinney, age 75, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Maxine was born Friday, June 20, 1947 in Rutherford County to the late Julius Faye Greene and Margaret Shelton Arrowood. She worked as the manager of Burger King for many years and as the cook at the Family Restaurant for several years. Maxine was an excellent seamstress and especially loved playing with her grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Riverside Baptist Church where she worked in the kitchen, taught VBS and enjoyed singing specials.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepdad, Elvis Arrowood; stepmother, Ella Mae Greene; two daughters, Myra Kelly and Melissa Greene; stepson, Joseph Scott McKinney and a brother, J.B. Greene.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of thirty-five years, Paul McKinney; daughters, Tina Kelly of Forest City and Charlene Anderson (Ron) of Caroleen; sisters, Dorlis Roberts of Forest City, Doris Ebert of Bostic and Wanda Jenkins of Forest City; stepbrother, Harland McGinnis of Rutherfordton; grandchildren, Justin Scott McKinney, Shelby Danielle McKinney, Johnathan Kimbrell, Carl Jolley, Logan Kelly, Heather Wilson, Keith Laughter and five great-grandchildren.

A family led memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Friday, November 4th at Riverside Baptist Church with Reverend Ted Blankenship officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
