Melinda Bailey, age 36, of Bostic, NC, died Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.
Born December 3, 1978 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Jake Bailey, Sr. and Erma Sue Toney Bailey. She was a homemaker and enjoyed yard work and outdoor activities. Melinda was known for her big heart for others and her love for her children. She was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Janice Padgett, Connie Jo Bailey, Jennie Bailey; two brothers, Michael Bailey and Benji Bailey.
Survivors include five children, Michelle Bailey, Elizabeth Bailey, Benjamin Bailey, Zathan Benton and Emily Benton; five brothers, James Bailey and wife, Martha of Caroleen, Timothy Bailey of Asheville, Mark Bailey of Spindale, Jeff Bailey and wife, Penny of Boiling Springs, NC and Jake Bailey and wife, Lisa of Forest City; five sisters, Donna Conner of Rutherfordton, Ruth Hice and husband, Freddie of Caroleen, Becky Bailey also of Caroleen, Angela Bailey of Forest City and Christy Bailey of Chesnee, SC.
A memorial service will be conducted at three o'clock on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Donald White officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A private inurnment will be held on a later date.
