Michael Daugherty, Sr.

Michael Daugherty, Sr., age 75, of Mooresboro, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2022 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.

Michael was born Sunday, June 1, 1947 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to the late Raymond Daugherty and Ila Davy Daugherty. He worked for R & R Plastics for several years and as a forklift driver for Ed’s Pallet World for fourteen years. He was a member of Christian Fellowship Church. Michael loved collecting antiques and enjoyed listening to Classical music.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Anita Tinker and two grandchildren, Curtis Honeycutt and Brittany Hollifield.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of forty-six years, Mary Daugherty; daughter, Lisa Honeycutt (Jason) of Rutherfordton; son, Michael Daugherty, Jr. (Stephanie) of Ellenboro; sister, Diane Rockwell (Don) of Raleigh; stepbrother, Joe Graham of Michigan. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Sarah Honeycutt, R.J. Honeycutt, Christian Daugherty, Katrina Roberts, Zack Moore and three great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be conducted at a later date.
