Michael Mcginnis

Michael 'Dewey' McGinnis, age 55, of Birdsong Lane, Forest City, NC, died September 24, 2012 at his residence.
Michael was born May 20, 1957 to the late Jesse James McGinnis and to his mother, who still survives, Emma Jane Bradley McGinnis. He worked for McGinnis Roofing for 35 years and was a longtime member of Crestview Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, working on his antique car and especially playing with his granddaughter. He will be known as a man who was a true neighbor to everyone and never had a complaining spirit in spite of being ill.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Jimmy, Bobby, LeRoy and Ronnie McGinnis and father in-law, John Russell.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Sheryl McGinnis; one son, Jason McGinnis; one daughter, Angie Dobbins and husband, Eric; granddaughter, Jadah (Sweetie) Dobbins; two step grandchildren, Cody Dobbins and Faith Dobbins all of Sandy Mush; two brothers, Ervin McGinnis and wife, Libby of Mooresboro and Steve McGinnis of Sandy Mush; one sister, Barbara Brackett of Sandy Mush.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Crestview Baptist Church with Reverend Kevin Rohm officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the church on Tuesday.
Memorial donations are suggested to Harrelson Funeral Home, 1251 US Highway 221A, Forest City, NC 28043 to help defray funeral costs.
