Michael Spake

Michael Fulton 'Mike' Spake, age 54, of Forest City, died Thursday, August 14, 2008 at his home.
Mike was born on January 28, 1954 in Cherokee County, NC to the late Orville Spake and Frances Cline Spake. He was a life-long resident of Rutherford County and a 1972 graduate of East High School. He was the owner and operator of Spake's Drive-In and Restaurant. Mike also enjoyed riding motorcycles and was an avid antique collector. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Leslie Spake.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Lisa Scoggins Spake; two daughters, Mellony Harris and her husband Chris of Conover, NC, Jill Ohmstead and her husband Chad of Shelby, NC; one son, Clint Spake, of the home; one step-daughter, Jessica Pye, of the home; one step-son, Matthew Pye of Forest City; four grandchildren, Luke Harris, Bryn Harris, Judson Ohmstead and Landry Ohmstead. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Margie Cline of Forest City; one sister, Robin Steinbrecher; and one uncle, R.B. Cline of Forest City.
