Mickey Hardin, age 81, of Forest City, NC, passed away Wednesday,
June 26, 2019 at his residence.
Mickey was born May 3, 1938 in Rutherford County to the late
Dewey Hardin and Annie Haulk Hardin. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army
and worked for Torrington/Timken Industries for many years before
retirement. He was a member of the First Wesleyan Church of Forest
City where he was a dedicated groundskeeper of the church lawn. Mickey
was an avid golfer and loved his family dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four
siblings, Frances Brantley, Howard Hardin, Peggy Hardin and Ronnie
Hardin.
Those left to treasure his memory include his loving wife of
fifty-nine years, Linda Lowery Hardin; son, Ricky Hardin and wife,
Sharon of Forest City; daughter, Angie Lewis of Boiling Springs, SC;
two brothers, Hubert Hardin and wife, Jean and Tim Hardin; three
sisters, Dot DeBrule, Susie Hardin and Helen Davis all of Forest City.
He is also survived by three grandchildren, Chloe Hardin, Tyler Lewis
and Troy Lewis.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday,
June 29, 2019 at First Wesleyan Church of Forest City with Reverend
Eric Yelton officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County
Memorial Cemetery with military honors being accorded by the
Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one
hour prior to service time at the church.
