Mike Wilson

Mike "Lightnen" Wilson, age 58, of Big Island Road, Rutherfordton, died Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Born April 15, 1958 in Batavia, New York, he was a son to the late Charles Wilson and Martha Sue Barnett Wilson. Mike was a truck driver for over thirty years and worked for Truck Service in Forest City and most recently for Penske Logistics. He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and a loyal member of the NCSC Bike Club. Mike enjoyed fishing, dirt track racing and spending time with his grandson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of almost fourteen years, Julie Wilson; son, Phillip David Henderson and wife, Tequilla Ann Owens of Rutherfordton; grandson, Corey Tate Henderson; brother, John Wilson and wife, Kathy of Iron Station, NC and several nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Harrelson Funeral Home.
