Mildred Biggerstaff Camp, age 98, of Oak Grove Church Road, Ellenboro, NC, died Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Mildred was born April 20, 1915 in Rutherford County, NC to the late T.A. Biggerstaff and Ola Mae Harrill Biggerstaff. She worked at Cone Mills for thirty-seven years before her retirement and was a life-long member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. She was very active in the Women's Association at the church and loved to travel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, James William "Buck" Camp; one son, Jimmy Camp; one brother, Oras Biggerstaff and one sister, Mary Kendrick.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Camp Atchley and husband, Ron of Ellenboro; two grandchildren, David Camp and wife, Lee Anne of Ellenboro and Angie Welborn of High Point, NC; three great-grandchildren, Lauren Camp, Kaylee Camp and Emma Welborn. She is also survived by her daughter in-law, Carolyn Camp of Ellenboro and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend David Hawkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Harrelson Funeral Home before the service at the cemetery.
