Morgan Cierra Bristol, age 17, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 due to an auto accident.
Born June 26, 1997 in Buncombe County, Morgan was an enthusiastic and loving young lady and whose energy transferred to the lives of all who knew her. She was a member of the Senior Class of 2015 at Chase High School and a cheerleader since sixth grade. She was also a member of the Chase FFA chapter. Morgan was a member of Chase Baptist Church and active in the "God Squad" youth group and enjoyed singing at church. She loved dancing and singing, but most of all she loved having times of laughter with her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her grandpa, Oren "Spanky" Dean Ledbetter, Jr.; two great grandpas, Ralph Melton and Harry E. Hawkins and great uncle, James Ray Hawkins.
Survivors include her parents, Josh and Christy Ledbetter of Forest City and Tydyarl Bristol and fiancé, Stacie Melton of Henrietta; two sisters, Adelyn Faith Ledbetter and Kimsey Bristol; brother, Kenndrick Bristol; grandparents, Chris and Cindy Melton of Ellenboro, Steve and Marilyn Morris of Rutherfordton, Toni Horton of Shiloh, Jimmy and Doris Bristol of Henrietta; great grandmothers, Mary Elizabeth Hawkins of Forest City and Betty Melton of Ellenboro; six aunts, Kim Robbins and husband Joe of Charlotte, Chasity Morris of Harris, Brittany Morris of Forest City, Dorothy Bristol of Rutherfordton, Latichea McSwain of Spartanburg and Techea Bristol of Henrietta; godmother, Laura Hales of Ellenboro; two uncles, Jeremy Horton of Shiloh and Jimmy Bristol, Jr. of Henrietta. She is also survived by a host of cousins, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Crestview Baptist Church with Reverend Scott Butler officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday at Harrelson Funeral Home.
