Mozell S. Tate, age 76, of Forest City, NC, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Fair Haven Home in Forest City.
Mozell was born June 5, 1942 in Rutherford County to the late Roy and Eliza Swink. She owned and operated a rug manufacturing business for many years and was a member of Henrietta First Baptist Church. Mozell loved going on camping trips with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Lawrence Tate; two sisters, Dorothy Randall and Cora Lee Hutchins and two brothers, Ernest Swink and Durham Swink.
Those left to cherish her memory include daughter, Deborah Taylor of Forest City; three sisters, Helen Shires of Forest City, Libby Blackburn of Shelby, NC and Marthel Matheny of Forest City and two brothers, Donald Swink (Janice) of Harris and Dean Swink of Ellenboro. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Tiffany Toney and Sean Toney (Paige) all of Forest City and one great-grandchild, Tucker Lee Miller.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ricky Poteat officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
