Muriel Lane

Muriel Ward Lane, age 87, of Forest City passed away on Friday, October 19, 2007 at Autumn Care of Forest City following an extended illness. She was born on May 28, 1920 in Rutherford County to the late Wesley Monroe Ward and Pansy Ray Ward. She worked for Burlington Industries as a weaver. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Henrietta. She enjoyed camping and sewing.

Mrs. Lane is survived by her husband of 70 years, Elbert of the family home; five sons, Reid Lane and wife Dorothy of Rutherfordton, NC, Whitey Lane and wife Brenda G. of Forest City, Larry Lane and wife Ramona of Forest City, Ronnie Lane and wife Brenda K. of Forest City, and Randy Lane and wife Anne of Sonoma, CA; a daughter, Nancy Baker and husband Neil of The Villages, FL; two sisters, Betty Lowery of Henrietta, NC, and Dorothy Jones of Kings Mountain, NC. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.
