Myles "John" Nix, age 72, of Mooresboro, NC, died Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Mary Black Hospital in Spartanburg.
John was born July 23, 1946 in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Albert Carl Nix and Louise Pearson Nix. He worked as a carpenter in construction for many years and also farmed for several years. John most recently worked as a maintenance technician for Gaffney High School. He was a member of High Shoal Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, golfing and was always known as a hard-worker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Patsy Russ and a brother, Donald Rollins.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of fifty-three years, Patricia Gail Williams Nix; two sons, Rocky James Walker and wife, Tineta of Forest City and David Nix of Mooresboro; two sisters, Elizabeth Lambert of Boiling Springs, NC and Judy Dobbins of Shelby and a brother, Troy Nix and wife, Becky of Forest City. He is also survived by one grandson, Brian Walker (Kelly) of Harris, NC and two great-grandchildren, Nicole Walker and Seth Walker.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at High Shoal Baptist Church with Reverend John Godfrey officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
