Nancy Royal Blackburn

Nancy Royal Blackburn, age 76, of Ellenboro, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Nancy was born Monday, August 19, 1946 in Wilkes County, NC to the late Estel Royal and Edna Brown Royal. She worked at Mastercraft as a cloth inspector for many years before her retirement. After that, she worked as a security officer for the NC Data Center. Nancy was a member of Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church. She enjoyed cooking for her family and watching her grandkids. She also enjoyed taking trips to the beach. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Bobby Dillard.

     Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of fifty-eight years, Curtis Blackburn, Sr.; daughter, Beth Blackburn Alexander and son, Curtis Blackburn, Jr. (Glenda) all of Ellenboro; brothers, Walter Royal (Kathy), Billy Royal (Pauline), Bobby Royal (Portia), Thomas Royal (Doris) and a sister, Alma Jean Dillard all of Wilkes County. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Victoria Blackburn (Cody Mills), Amber Wise (Casey), Leah Pressley (Jesse), Summer Keever (Camilo Mancipe), Noah Alexander and a great granddaughter, Lydia Wise and many other extended family members.

     The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Monday, July 31^st at Spindale Fellowship Holiness with Reverend Chad Sisk officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
