Nellie Norman

Nellie Smith Norman, age 84, of 2574 Harris-Henrietta Road, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at White Oak Manor.
Nellie was born November 18, 1924 in Rutherford County to the late Edgar Smith and Betty Kirkendall Smith. She worked in textiles for many years and also was a waitress at the Village Diner in Henrietta for several years. She loved to cook and was also a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Henrietta.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Jay Norman and by her son, Terry Norman.
Survivors include a grandson, Shawn Norman and his wife Tammy of Henrietta; two brothers, Charles Smith of Ellenboro and Harold Dean Smith of Dobbinsville; six nieces, Jan Norman, Helen Burgess, Linda Norman, Doris Swafford, Cathy Stanley and Pam Coverdale. She is also survived by several great nieces, nephews and one great grandson.
