Nicole Owens

Nicole Tessnair Owens, age 29, of Cherryville, died Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Atrium Health-Cleveland. Nicole was born February 23, 1990 in Rutherford County to Sherry McNaughton who resides in Rutherfordton and the late Garland J. Tessnair. She was a graduate of R-S Central High School, class of 2008 and worked as a Med-Tech for Laurel Woods Assisted Living in Polk County. She also worked as a convenience store clerk. Nicole loved taking care of children and enjoyed travelling. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by grandparents, Vester and Nadine Tessnair and Jack Gettys and an aunt, Tammy Lee. Besides her mother, those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Jenny Tallent; grandmother, Viola Hoppes of Rutherfordton; step-mother, Karen Tessnair Shelton of Marion; three sisters, Ashley Tessnair of Marion, Elizabeth Williams (James) of Forest City and Billie Jean Tessnair of Marion; brother, Matthew Cooley of Rutherfordton; special cousins, Cody Cole and Cheyenne Davis both of Ellenboro; special friend, Megan Gossett of Ellenboro; special nieces and nephews, Brealyn, Mavorick, Emma, Bryson and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2020 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations are requested to Harrelson Funeral Home, 1251 US Highway 221A, Forest City, NC 28043, to help defray funeral costs.
