Norman Deese

Norman Turner Deese 'Perk', age 80, of 1769 Highway 221A, Caroleen, NC, died Thursday, April 8, 2009 at Spartanburg Regional Hospital.
He was born on July 1, 1928 in Hickory, NC to the late Claude Alonzo Deese and Annie Hall Deese. He served our country during the Korean War as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army and was an active member of the American Legion Post #423 and VFW Post #5204. He was a faithful member of Harriett Memorial Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and having coffee with his buddies at Key Largo. He especially enjoyed trading and getting a 'good deal.'
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Ray and Gaynell Parker and two brothers, Homer Deese and Wallace Deese.
Survivors include his wife of 49 ' years, Mary Jo Deese; two daughters Donita Stewart and her husband, Ron, of Belmont, NC and Becky Wright and her husband, Doug, of East Earl, PA; two sons, Curtis Deese of Caroleen and Johnny Deese and his wife, Connie, of Stilwell, Kansas; nine grandchildren, Beth Richards Justin Stewart, Ashley Stewart, Tyler Wright, Samantha Wright, Shelby Wright, Dillion Deese, Phillip Duncan and J. J. Deese. He is also survived by one brother, Paul Deese and his wife Edith of Clover, SC and by two sisters, Revonda Conner and her husband Alton of Caroleen and Mick Hennessee and her husband, Earl of Bostic, NC.
