Norris Stacey, age 71, of Rutherfordton, went to his heavenly home on Friday, July 16, 2021 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. Norris was born Friday, July 29, 1949 in Rutherford County to the late Albert Hugh Stacey and Bernie Wilson Stacey. He worked at the J.C. Cowan Plant for twenty-five years before his retirement and was a faithful member of Harris First Baptist Church. He was a dedicated Christian and served as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon at the church. He enjoyed raising chickens, gardening (especially peppers) and watching football and Westerns.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dane Stacey and his twin brother, Morris Stacey.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of forty-eight years, Karen Ledford Stacey; two sons, James S. Stacey of Spartanburg and Jason R. Stacey of Charlotte; brother, Steve Stacey of Albany, Georgia; sisters, Julia Lovelace of Woodruff, SC and Cynthia Hefner (Mike) of Winston-Salem, NC. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Ezra A. Stacey, Veda E. Stacey, Emra R. Stacey and several beloved nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend George Whitmire officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
The family wishes to thank the Hospice staff for all their care and compassion toward Norris during his illness.
