Oxie Earls Harris, age 93, of Forest City, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born September 26, 1923 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Calma Earls and Myrtle Beheler Earls. Oxie worked in textiles for many years before her retirement and was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Shelby. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Clifford Harris; seven brothers, Ophas, Crawford, Hanky, Melvin, Jimmy, Avalon and Marshall Earls and three sisters, Susie Conner, Ellen Carder and Gaynell Blanton.
Those left to cherish her memory includes one daughter, Joan Harris of Forest City; son, Van Harris and wife, Dinah of Pickens, SC; two grandchildren, Joy Davis of Fort Worth, TX and Alan Harris and wife, Joni of Garland, TX; two great-grandchildren, Alanna Harris and Sebastian Harris.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Barry Goodman and Reverend Bruce McAllister officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
