Patricia Covington Mcdonald

Patricia Covington McDonald, age 80, of Forest City, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Atrium Health-Cleveland in Shelby.

Pat was born August 3, 1940 in Rutherford County to the late Ralph Covington and Pearl Price Covington. She was a graduate of Tri-High School, class of 1958, and worked for Parker Hannifin for twenty-five years before retirement. Pat was a faithful member of Henrietta First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was actively serving in the children’s ministry. She enjoyed going shopping and visiting with her friends. Pat especially loved her family and spending time with her grandson, Jace.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, Jimmy McDonald.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Jamie McDonald and wife, Kimberly of Forest City and grandson, Jace McDonald. She is also survived by a host of friends, cousins, nieces, nephews which includes a great niece, Johanna Allen of Forest City.

A private graveside service will be conducted with Reverend James Johnson officiating. The body will lie in state from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home. A public celebration of life to honor Pat will be held on a later date.
