Paul Jenkins

Paul 'P.J.' Jenkins, age 67, of Gantts Grove Church Road, Mooresboro, NC died Friday, September 7, 2012 at his residence.
Paul was born February 13, 1945 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Edd Jenkins and Mae Bowers Jenkins. He worked for PPG for 40 years before his retirement and attended Harris First Baptist Church. Paul enjoyed fishing, hunting, NASCAR, watching John Wayne westerns, going on cruises and trips to the mountains. Even in spite of his recent illness, he was always concerned about his family and loved them very much.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Charlie, Orice, John, Jack, Roy and Stoney Jenkins.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Jane Lowery Jenkins; three children, Bryan Paul Jenkins and wife, Barbara of Lattimore, Angela Jenkins Twitty and husband, Ernest and Eric Shane Jenkins and wife, Michelle all of Mooresboro; two sisters, Betty Oliver of Rutherfordton and Edith Tipton of Manning, SC. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Heather Davis, Dale Davis, Bryan Jenkins, Jr., Samantha Jenkins, Brandon Jenkins; one great granddaughter, Madison Brooks and his beloved pet poodle, Katie.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 10, 2012 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend George Whitmire officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. At other times they will be gathered at the family residence.
