Perry Wayne Wilson, age 72, of Old Wagy Road, Forest City, NC, died Monday, January 7, 2019 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
Perry was born February 11, 1946 in Rutherford County to the late Charles Thomas Wilson and Vera Priscella Tate Wilson. He worked for Fieldcrest Mill for twenty years and Snyder's Mill for fifteen years. Perry enjoyed riding his motorcycle and especially loved taking care of his family's needs. He was a faithful member of Forest Lake Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of forty-seven years, Lavana Stafford Wilson.
Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Linda Greene (Bruce) of Ellenboro and Betty Murray (Chris Phillips) of Forest City; brother, Steve Wilson of Forest City and sister, Diann Wilson of Charlotte. He is also survived by his beloved pet dog, Dolly; three grandchildren, Tyler John-Perry Greene (Whitney), Bryson Christopher Murray, Caroline Elizabeth Murray and great-granddaughter, Macy Jayde Greene.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Wayne Toney officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
