Pete Harvath

Pete Harvath, age 76, of Seaboard Rd., Ellenboro, NC, died Thursday, August 18, 2011 at his residence after an extended illness.
Pete was born on May 1, 1935 in Indiana County, Pennsylvania to the late Adam Horvath and Mary Vascovich Horvath. He graduated from Clymer High School in 1955 and was a veteran of the US Army. He worked in manufacturing many years for Greensteel-Korok in Dixonville, PA and in the coal mining industry for Pennsylvania Power and Light/Greenwich Collieries of Ebensburg, PA. He was a member of St. Michaels Greek Orthodox Catholic Church of Clymer, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Mary Hauck Harvath; two sons, Edward Harvath and wife, Sherry of Bloomingdale, GA, Harry Harvath and wife, Terri of Mahaffey, PA; one daughter, Margaret Harvath Mitchell and husband, David of Mooresboro, NC; one brother, Michael Harvath of Ocala, FL; one sister, Susan Korson and family of River Vale, NJ; mother in-law, Margaret Hauck of Ellenboro and brother in-law, Walter Hauck of Grampian, PA. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Bethany Harvath, Kyle Harvath, Cherianne Harvath, Jessica Harvath, Jesse Mitchell, Jennalea Mitchell and two step-grandchildren, Kegan Ransom and Cortney Ransom.
