Phoniece Greene

Phoniece Willis Greene, 81, of Henrietta, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Carolinas Medical Center following a brief illness. Phoniece was born on September 11, 1926 in Rutherford County to the late Carl Willis and Mattie Griffin Willis. She was a life-long resident of Rutherford County and a member of Temple Baptist Church in Henrietta. She was a retired textile worker, working as a spinner for both Burlington and Cone Mills. She was preceded in death by her husband Lee Roy Greene, a son Bobby Greene, three brothers, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

She is survived by a son Gene Greene and wife Lois of Henrietta, NC; a daughter-in-law Geraldine Greene of Henrietta; a brother George Willis of Kings Mountain, NC; two sisters Margaret Rich of Hickory, NC and Geraldine Gibbs of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Mark Greene and wife Kathy, Karen Ingle and husband Randy, Robby Green and Shiela White, and Scott Greene and Mia Ledford; 10 Great-grandchildren, Dean and Shauna Ingle, Kiley and Birch Beaver, Nickie and Randy Hall, Clint and Christie Ingle, Marcus Greene, Trae' Greene, Ben Greene, Destiny Ledford, Tylon Greene, Bryson Greene; and five great-great-grandchildren, Layne Beaver, Lauren Ingle, Christian Beaver, Myra Beaver, and Hayden Hall.
