Phyllis A. Hoover, age 78, of Forest City, died Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at the Willow Ridge Rehab and Nursing Center.
Born August 10, 1939 in Boyle County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Obed O. Land and Mae Walker Land. She was a graduate of Danville High School, class of 1958 and worked as a Wal-Mart associate for over eighteen years. She enjoyed traveling, listening to music, and reading. Phyllis was a train enthusiast from the days of her youth until her passing. She was also a member of Chase Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, Allen "Al" Hoover.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Alan Hoover and wife, Melissa of Henrietta and Kevin Hoover of Rutherfordton; two daughters, Arlene Hoover of Nolanville, Texas and Vivian Parker and husband, Timothy of Henrietta. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jennifer Hoover, Sara Hoover, David Hoover and Allen Parker.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Chase Baptist Church with Reverend Scott Butler officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time in the church sanctuary.
