Phyllis Cook Moore, age 71, of Coffey Road, Forest City, NC, died Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Hospice House.
Phyllis was born April 2, 1941 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Emerson Cook and Ella Newton Cook. She worked in textiles most of her life, having worked for Shelby Elastics for many years. She enjoyed volunteering at Yokefellow, cooking and gardening. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Forest City.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Claude Cook and two sisters, Pearl McKee and Christine Simpers.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Wayne Moore; two sons, Larry Kimbrell and Charles Kimbrell both of Forest City; three step sons, Keith Moore of Cliffside, Todd Moore of Duffield, VA and Kevin Moore also of Cliffside. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Paul Green, Michael Green, John Moore, Stacy Bosgra; three great grandchildren, Benson Green, Chloe Green and Diamond Moore.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time in the church sanctuary.
