Ralph Davis

Ralph Davis, age 86, of Forest City, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Ralph was born Saturday, June 6, 1936 in Marmet, West Virginia to the late Fred Davis and Jinive Wells Davis. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. Ralph worked as the maintenance supervisor for the First Baptist Church in Shelby for twenty years and was a longtime member of the church. Ralph enjoyed taking trips to Cherokee, NC.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-seven years, Deloris Parsons Davis; a son, James Edward Davis; three brothers, William Arthur Davis, Paul Davis, Wallace Davis and sisters Helen Crowley and Janet Young.

Left to cherish fond memories are his daughters, Georgia Lynn Cooper of Lawndale and Donna Gordon (Robert) of Forest City; two sons, Ronnie Davis (Sheila) of Pratt, West Virginia and Robert Eugene Davis of Rutherfordton. He is also survived by a brother, Lawrence Davis of West Virginia; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Ralph’s life will be held on a later date.
