Ralph W. Liebendorfer, age 89, of Ellenboro, NC, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday October 18, 2017.
Born April 11, 1928 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, son to the late Harry G. Liebendorfer and Ruth S. Bowles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harry "Uncle Red" Liebendorfer.
Ralph was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and served as a Counter Intelligence Corporal during the Korean War.
His life's passion was restoring Classic Cars and was widely known as the "Cad Father" due to his love for the classic 1941 Cadillac. Ralph moved from Pennsylvania to Southern California in 1962 where he married Susan Ann Guenette. Just a few years later, he brought his daughter Renée into the world.
Ralph was an active member of several Antique and Classic Car Clubs in Southern California including the Cadillac LaSalle club. He was the proud owner of the Duchess 1941 Cadillac and two 1941 Cadillacs once owned by General Motors Presidents Wilson and Sloan.
In his earlier years, he played minor league baseball for the Bartlesville Pirates in Oklahoma.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Renée Issa and her husband, Samer.
Mr. Liebendorfer will be buried with Full Military Honors in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC.
