Randy Burgess

Randy Darrell Burgess, age 65, of 311 Morningstar Lake Road, Forest City, died Tuesday, January 24, 2023.

Randy was a loving husband, devoted father, proud PawPaw, and was considered a friend and brother to many, but above all he was a faithful Christian. Randy loved the Lord and loved everyone in his church family. He had a servant’s heart and always wanted to help others. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, A.C. and Sue Burgess and a sister-in-law, Lynn Burgess.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sandy Gowan Burgess; mother-in-law, Vergie Jenkins, who he called momma, of the home; four children, Brandon Burgess of Charlotte, Samantha Lee and husband, Donald of Forest City, Lacey McKinney and husband, Jason of Gaffney and Joshua Burgess of Rutherfordton; seven grandchildren, Alexia, Luke, Andrew, Dillon, Adaley, Lydia and Reagan; brother, Danny Burgess of Spindale; sister, Laverne Frietze and husband, Bill of Washington D.C.; five nieces and nephews, Justin, Megan, Billy, Khris and Kim.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Saturday, January 28th at Faith Baptist Church in Forest City with Reverend Brian Melton officiating.
