Ray "Hamburger" White, age 75, of South Broadway Street, Forest City, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born September 12, 1941 in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late John Sullivan White and Laura Ann Queen White. He was a graduate of Cool Springs High School, class of 1959. Ray was an insurance and advertising salesman for many years. He enjoyed listening to Southern Gospel music and loved his family dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Donald White and three sisters, Fern Vegoren, Janice Lowery and Dot White.
Those left to cherish his memory include three daughters, Sharon Blanton and husband, Dean, Lisa Taylor and Christy Day all of Forest City; one sister, Sybil Whiteside of Green Hill; four grandchildren, Angela Hutchins, Heather Taylor, Angel Day, Madison Campbell and three great-grandchildren, Aaron Taylor, Sadie Taylor and Tristan Putnam.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the Epicenter Church with Reverend Joseph H. Dutton officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the church.
