Rebecca Ann Piercy Pope

Rebecca Ann Piercy Pope, age 84, of Bostic, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at her residence.

Becky was born Tuesday, March 30, 1939 in Rutherford County to the late Lloyd and Edith Piercy. She was a graduate of Tri-High School, class of 1957. Becky worked for the Carolina Shoe Factory in Morganton for thirty-eight years and for Walmart for fifteen years. She was a member of Cane Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed baking cakes, working on various crafts and doing word search books.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Emilie Piercy Marquez and an infant son.

Survivors include her loving husband of sixty-seven years, Benjamin Charles Pope; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Pope Turner and brother-in-law, Floyd Waters.  Loving memories will also be shared by a host of nieces and nephews, which includes a special nephew, Audrey Scruggs and his wife, Jean Scruggs who were also caregivers. Also surviving are a host of great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, September 6^th at Cane Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Danny Camp officiating. Interment will follow at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
