Rebecca Cantrell Elliott

Rebecca Cantrell Elliott, age 87, of Spindale, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Autumn Care in Saluda. 

Rebecca was born on Sunday, September 20, 1936 in Rutherford County, to the late Lionel Cantrell and Carrie Condrey Cantrell. She was a member of the former Alexander Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing, gardening, and doing farm work. Rebecca spent a number of years as a caregiver for the mentally challenged and elderly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Elliott; daughter, Susan Byers; granddaughter, Angie Aranigo; and a sister, Rachel Toney.

Survivors include her caretaker and granddaughter, Carmen Liggins (Bradford Foster) of Spindale; and great-grandchildren, Blake, Mary, Ariel, and Joseph and a special niece, Cheryl Baynard.

A private funeral service will be held to celebrate Rebecca’s life.
