Rebecca Smith

Rebecca Davis Smith, age 95, Forest City, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2007 at her home. She was born February 26, 1912 in McDowell County to the late John Henry Davis and Arrah Elizabeth Rumfelt Davis. She grew up in McDowell County, eventually moving to Rutherford County as a young lady. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Her hobbies included playing the piano, going to yard sales and playing Rook. She was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Calhoun Smith on January 28, 1977 after 48 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers.
Survivors included two sons Ray Smith of Henrietta, NC, and Mike Smith and wife Teresa of Forest City, NC; four daughters, Ruth Watson and husband Benny, Joyce Kimbrell and husband Dan, Grace Ruppe and husband Addie, and Nancy Wall and husband Dan all of Forest City, NC. Also surviving are 17 Grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
