Reggie Wilson, age 70, of Lattimore, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the Carolinas Healthcare System-Cleveland.
Born June 25, 1946 in Rutherford County, he was a son to the late Scott Wilson and Mary Tucker Wilson. He was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1965 and Cleveland Community College, class of 1970. He was a veteran and the U.S. Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. Reggie worked for Fiber Industries for thirty-three years before retirement and was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church of Shelby. He was involved with area youth sports and was a baseball coach for the Lattimore Little League for several years. Reggie was known for his hard work and enjoyed cutting grass, fishing and golfing. He especially loved spending time with each member of his family.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty-one years, Helen Hooper Wilson; two sons, Scott Wilson of Gaffney, SC and Todd Wilson of Inman, SC; two grandchildren, Adam Wilson and wife, Kristin and Chelsea Wilson; one great-granddaughter, Macy Lynn Wilson. He also survived by one brother, Ronnie Wilson and wife, Mary of Rutherfordton and two sisters, Gloria Holland and husband, Randy of Shelby and Agnes Splawn of Ellenboro and many nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home.
