Richard Henderson

Richard Henderson, age 75, of Forest City, passed away, Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Richard was born Monday, November 4, 1946 in Rutherford County to the late Evelyn Henderson Doggett. He was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1965. Richard served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at Hoechst-Celanese as an electrician for fifteen years. Richard was a member of the First Wesleyan Church of Forest City and enjoyed watching football, basketball and golf.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his life-time companion, Brigitte Fitzpatrick and his grandmother, Bertha Henderson.

Survivors include his sister, Cathy Humphries (Ricky) of Gaffney, SC; nieces, Shannon Holland of Boiling Springs, NC and Dawn Womack (Tyler) of Gaffney; great-nephews, Karson Womack and Conner Holland (Kelsey), a great-niece, Emma Womack and a great-great niece and nephew, Aidyn and Easton Holland.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Eric Yelton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home.
