Ricky Robbins, Sr., age 65, of Henrietta, died Friday, July 10, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born February 7, 1950 in Rutherford County, he was a son of the Archie Robbins and Viola Tessnear Robbins. He worked in construction most of his life as a self-employed heavy equipment operator. Ricky was a member of the Village Chapel of Forest City. He was a kind hearted man who loved his family dearly. He was a talented musician and was the lead guitarist for the "The Blazers" and was also a part of "The Robbins Family" southern gospel group. His family knew him as an inventor and innovator. Ricky enjoyed watching NASCAR and loved animals.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Farrell Robbins and sister, Leona Tessnear.
Survivors include his loving wife of forty-eight years, Dorlene G. Robbins; one son, Ricky Pat Robbins, Jr. and wife, Rebekah of Henrietta; daughter, Regan Paige Toney and husband, Sean of Forest City; granddaughter, Madison Nicole Robbins and a sister-in-law, Annette Robbins of Henrietta. He is also survived by his pet, Daisy.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Ronnie Robbins officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Harrelson Funeral Home.
