Ricky "Harley" Douglas Vickers, Sr. age 60, of Mooresboro, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the Carolinas Healthcare System-Cleveland.
Born October 14, 1956 in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Marjorie Durham Vickers and Joseph William Vickers, Sr. of Henrietta. He worked in textiles for many years and most recently as a Security Supervisor for Facebook. He was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed building and riding motorcycles. Ricky was the president of the Brothers of the Third Wheel-Western North Carolina Chapter. He was a devoted husband, father, son and grandpa.
In addition to his father, those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of thirty-four years, Wanda Hill Vickers; two daughters, Rachel Dawn Griffin (Daniel) of Gulfport, Mississippi and Trilana Vickers of Mooresboro; three sons, Ricky Douglas Vickers, Jr. (Lisa) of Forest City, Joshua Vickers and Joseph Matthew Vickers both of Mooresboro; one brother, Joseph William Vickers, Jr. (Rosa) of Henrietta. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kain Vickers, Abigail Vickers, Riley Vickers, Daniel Griffin, Scarlett Griffin, Molly Griffin, Lilabella Vickers-Greene and Malachi Vickers; many loved nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Sam Henderson officiating. The family will be gathered at 2376 NC 120 Highway, Cliffside.
