Rita Gilbert

Rita Gilbert, age 59, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
A native of Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Virgil Lee and Lucille Jenkins Adams. She worked for Southern Device in Morganton for many years and loved to fix hair and clean house. She was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Dennis Caroll Gilbert; one sister, Minerva Moore and one brother, Billy Ray Adams.
Survivors include three sons, Charles Lee Gilbert and his wife Cindy, Jerry Wayne Gilbert and Bobby David Gilbert all of Rutherfordton; two brothers, Earl Lee Adams of Forest City and Steve Roy Adams of Mt. Vernon, NC; five sisters, Jesse Clarence of Rutherfordton, Mary Smith of Forest City, Geraldine Ziegler of Detroit, MI, Jean Burdett of Bessemer City, NC and Betty Weeks of Forest City; two grandchildren and her beloved pet, Daisy.
