Robert Allred

Robert "Bob" Allred, Jr., age 69, of Ellenboro, NC, died Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born July 24, 1944 in Rutherford County, NC, he was a son of the late Robert O. Allred, Sr. and Letha Hughes Allred. Bob served in the US Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also an honor graduate of Isothermal Community College and a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He worked for Stonecutter Mills for twenty-eight years and was an avid gardener. Bob loved his family dearly and especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Campbell and Donnie Jean McCurry.
Survivors include his loving wife of forty-three years, Sue White Allred; one daughter, Trinia Allred Carr and husband, Kenny of Rutherfordton; two sons, Tommy White and wife, Mary of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky and Brian Allred and wife, Brente of Sunshine Community; two sisters, Joan Allred of Rutherfordton and Millie Lineberry and husband, Jerry of Sandy Mush; two brothers, Gary Allred and wife Sharlene of Caroleen and Ricky Allred and wife, Mary of Mooresboro. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Cullan White, Story White, Ella White, Michael Mitchell, Jr., Taylor Mitchell, Shianne Carr, Ryan Allred and wife, Tiffany, Sydney Williams and Gracie Allred; two great-grandchildren, Audrey Allred and Kolten Fisher and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 on Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Owen Duncan and Reverend Lanny J. Funchess officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
